INNOVATION DINNER
Design using bacteria?
PHA: A REVOLUTION IN BIO BASED MATERIALS
What if materials could grow, instead of being manufactured?
We are surrounded by living systems, yet most of what we build remains static.
We would like to invite you to an intimate innovation dinner where you can experience a new generation of materials grown, not produced.
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are biobased polymers produced by microbial processes. They are fully biodegradable and return to the earth without leaving a trace, behaving more like wood than plastic while still allowing a high level of design freedom.
We’ve been working hands-on with this material in real applications to understand how it behaves beyond theory. It quickly becomes clear that this is not a universal solution, but a material with very specific strengths and limitations.
During the evening, you will be able to see, touch, and reflect on how such materials could become part of architectural practice—across surfaces, objects, and spatial elements.
We are bringing together a small group of architects and designers interested in biophilic design, circular thinking, and material innovation.
